JONATHAN PHILLIPS is a published fiction writer and poet. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he attended public elementary school, and religious secondary and high schools. After graduating Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications, Jonathan transplanted west to work in Hollywood. His writing career began in 2002 upon joining his cousin Michael as part of a screenwriting team. By 2006, the two had penned eight screenplays and two TV pilots and garnered brief representation. Jonathan also penned four stage plays of his own accord, two of which were given staged readings.

On the freelance side, Jonathan was a paid fantasy football and baseball writer for sites like TalentedMrRoto.com, Rotoexperts.com, SI(Sports Illustrated).com, and Daily Fantasy Sports online. His fiction work, Speck, was given its first publication in hard copy at Carrier Pigeon Magazine and online at The Front Porch Review. It went on to win a 2016 Write Well Award from the Silver Pen Writers Association and was featured in that 2016 anthology. Jonathan’s work has been a mainstay on FabulaArgentea.com, with his story, Blank Canvas, published in their 5th Anniversary Anthology and where some of his other stories – My Brother, the Pomegranate Tree, and Remedies - have also been featured. Other works have appeared in the Loch Raven Review and the Jewish Literary Journal.

Jonathan will garner his master’s degree in Fiction Writing from Drexel University in June 2024. He resides in Sherman Oaks, CA with his wife and their two boys.
